The Innovative Business Idea Accelerator

The project focuses on the establishment of an association (AI3) of organisations committed to promoting the creation of knowledge-based and innovative businesses, including the organisations of Piedmont and the Business Accelerator of the Politecnico di Milano, belonging to the university's Technological Research and Transfer Area, with which I3P has consolidated a solid partnership.

Goals

• To transform research findings achieved in member universities into enterprises. To this end, a ‘scouter’ will be responsible for systematically contacting research staff in the universities To encourage and ascertain the possibility of transforming research results into business opportunities;
• To encourage the filing of patents on research findings, with the support of existing initiatives and services from the Torino Wireless Foundation and COREP (consortium of the three universities of Piedmont, working in the field of technological transfer).

Activities
The main activities of the association concern:

• FINANCING: the provision of high-risk loans, such as subordinate and equity loans to help start-up high-potential enterprises in need of capital;
• FINANCIAL SERVICES: services of an advisory nature and assistance in presenting business plans to potential venture capitalists and the banking industry; the association also works to establish general agreements with banks for the benefit of all enterprises represented by association members;
• CO-ORDINATION of benefits for new start-ups, in the form of real services provided by AI3 associates.
