Italian Association of University Incubators and Business Plan Competitions

Established in November 2004, the Association brings together university enterprise incubators, universities, and public research institutes that promote enterprise creation initiatives such as, for example, local business plan competitions.
Goals
Supporting innovative business
- To promote the creation of innovative start-ups from university research findings;
- To raise awareness and provide information on the creation of innovative enterprises through publications, conferences, and educational initiatives;
- To lobby for the adoption of government policy (at both the local and national levels) for the promotion of business creation and incubation initiatives;
- To organise local “Start Cup” competitions and the final national competition, the National Innovation Award;
- To organise the national Start-Up of the Year Award for enterprises started-up with the support of the Association's members.
Networking
- To encourage mutual co-operation between members and the exchange of experiences;
- To participate in national and international projects connected with innovative enterprise creation;
- To promote and support the development of international networks.
Members
Membership is open to universities, and companies and consortia in which universities are leading stakeholders, which run or co-ordinate enterprise incubators and local business plan competitions. For 2007, membership has been offered at no charge.
Conferences & Publications
Since 2006, PNI Cube has organised annual conferences of interest to organisations involved in supporting the creation and growth of innovative start-ups.
For 2007, a round-table conference was organised to debate and discuss the management of university spin-offs by universities, featuring speakers from all over Europe with consolidated experience in the field.
