ActInSpace® is an international innovation contest aiming to inspire young people worldwide to meet challenges based on space technologies, data, patents and infrastructures. The competition aims to promote entrepreneurship, encourage the creation of start-ups and promote the use of space technologies and data acquired from space to improve the lives of citizens, increase employment and protect our planet.
The result of the collaboration between I3P, Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Openet Technologies, ActInSpace Italia is a unique opportunity for participants to work on creating business perspectives for the challenges using patents, technologies and satellite data made available by CNES, ESA, Airbus and all the local partners to create start-ups.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
ActInSpace is open to everyone: students, aerospace enthusiasts, start-ups working in the field and willing to challenge themselves, designers, marketers and people with communication skills. Your team needs to be multidisciplinary in order to succeed!
The suggested number of teammates is three to five: with less people you would work alone, with more it would be too chaotic.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You and your team will have 24 hours to work on your project. The aim is to work on a solution answering one of the challenges available on the ActInSpace official website.
All the challenges are based on high-level technologies, which nevertheless are easy to re-use because they have been selected due to their potential for commercial applications.
At the end of the hackathon, you will have 7 to 10 minutes to pitch your project to the national jury that will evaluate your work, using ActInSpace criteria.
Since this is an international format of event, all the public moments (such as the initial presentations and the pitch sessions) will be held in English. The coaching sessions will be in English or Italian.
The participation to the hackathon is free, you just have to sign up for the national online event on the official website.
At the end of the pitch session, the national jury will award the best Italian team. Then, the national winning team will have access to the international finals.
The winners of the ActInSpace contest will be awarded with amazing prizes, with the grand prize being a Zero-G Airbus A310 parabolic flight.
