I3P: making an impact worth over 2000 highly skilled jobs Data on the start-ups supported by Politecnico di Torino's Innovative Companies Incubator confirm the success of our model: of the 233 companies created within the incubator, 160 are active and 24 have been acquired by industrial groups. Together, in 2017, all 160 I3P start-ups reached a turnover of 140 million euros and more than 2,100 jobs were created. In 2018 there were 5 acquisitions of start-ups by industrial groups.

From 1999 to 2018, I3P promoted the birth of 233 companies - 11 of which in 2018 alone - that generated more than 2,100 jobs: these are the updated figures of I3P, Politecnico di Torino's Business Incubator, which draws up an updated balance sheet of its activities.

Of the 233 total companies that have entered the incubation process, 160 are still active and 24 have been acquired. Five exits occurred in 2018 alone, including: PonyZero, which entered the orbit of one of the largest Italian restaurant groups; Electro Power Systems incorporated into the Engie group; AMC, recently acquired by Axel Johnson International's Lifting Solutions business group.

The data show that three start-ups out of four are thriving at I3P, generating a good growth performance, a positive trend that reflects the selection and support carried out by the Turin incubator. I3P companies have obtained venture capital of over EUR 6 million.

In 2017, the aggregate turnover of start-ups reached 140 million euros, an increase of 16 million compared to the previous year and an average growth rate of 23% over the last five years.

"In 2018, I3P achieved excellent results in terms of the number of companies created and investments obtained by start-ups. The quality of the services offered by the incubator certainly contributed to this success," emphasises Giuseppe Scellato, President of I3P. "Our goal is to continue to offer start-ups opportunities to acquire the necessary resources to mature entrepreneurial projects and create a network that supports access to the market, industrial partners, and investors."

On 18 December, during the Start-up Festival, "Start-up dell'anno" Tyvak International and Waterview were awarded for their achievements after three years of incubation.
