The high recognition was awarded by Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, President of the Senate, to companies, public bodies, and design professions, selected from the winners of innovation prizes awarded annually at national level by the main business and professional associations in the industry and service fields (ABI, ADI, Confcommercio, Confindustria, PNICube), as well as large industrial groups and Dipartimento della Funzione Pubblica.
Ermes Cyber Security, innovative start-up and Spin-Off of Politecnico di Torino, created after years of research into privacy and web tracking, was awarded the prize. Thanks to patented algorithms based on machine learning, big data and artificial intelligence, the start-up has designed a totally automatic solution that does not require any human intervention and is able to ensure total protection updated in real time for companies against online threats. In 2017, Ermes Cyber Security won the ICT (information technology and new media) Prize at the 2017 "Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione".
