Politecnico di Torino (the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy) and the business incubator I3P present the new entrepreneurship training and support programme for Proof-of-Concepts (PoC) developed in the academic environment. The programme aims to create project dossiers and foster their growth into real innovative start-ups, with the aim of giving rise to new businesses in the area.

The initiative is part of the activities of the Italian NODES Ecosystem, in which Politecnico di Torino is one of the main partners for Spokes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7, while I3P is a partner in Spoke 1, dedicated to Aerospace and Sustainable Mobility. The training and support course is aimed in particular at researchers from Politecnico and at the winning teams of the academic PoCs already presented in NODES.

The accompaniment process consists of five phases, during which qualified experts will support each entrepreneurial team in the following activities:

  1. drafting a summary presentation of the project, with the support of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of Politecnico di Torino;
  2. development of a strategy for the management of the project's intellectual property (IP), with the support of the TTO;
  3. definition of the value proposition of the business project (analysis of the target market and its market needs, benchmarking activities), with the support of I3P;
  4. drawing up a Go-to-Market strategy for the project and assessing its need for further funding, with the support of I3P;
  5. preparation of materials for the pitch and communication of the entrepreneurial project, with I3P, also in view of participation in the next Techshare Day for academic PoCs.

The programme, which will start in April 2024 and last until June 2025, will be run in hybrid mode, with part of the activities carried out in person at I3P and part online. The winning academic Proof-of-Concept teams will be contacted directly by Politecnico di Torino and I3P to provide them with all the information needed to participate in the programme.
