In Turin, mobility innovation is accelerating: Space for Imagination, together with the City of Turin and key players in the ecosystem, presents Space TO Move, the acceleration program that transforms ideas and prototypes into market-ready solutions.

The call for applications, which has already been launched and will close on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, is aimed at start-ups, spin-offs, innovative SMEs, and entrepreneurial teams committed to rethinking urban mobility not only in terms of technology but also in terms of business models.

The acceleration program

Created within the context of the City of Turin's Living Lab ToMove - a project funded by the Department for Digital Transformation with funds from the Italian National Plan for Investments Complementary to the PNRR (PNC-A.1-N1, Measure 1.4.6) - the program offers four months of fieldwork, from January to April 2026: rapid validation with real users and institutional partners, personalized mentorship, practical training modules, and an investor-readiness bootcamp.

Thanks to access to data and urban infrastructure provided by GTT, 5T, LINKS Foundation, Politecnico di Torino, University of Turin and Fondazione Piemonte Innova, teams will be able to test and measure the value of their solutions in an operational context. In May 2026, a Demo Day will bring the results to the attention of investors, corporations, and institutions.

The challenges that the program aims to tackle are the most pressing ones faced by European cities: reducing traffic and emissions, improving road safety with a focus on vulnerable users, making public transport more reliable and integrated with MaaS (Mobility as a Service), bridging the “first/last mile”, enhancing urban data by overcoming fragmentation and poor interoperability, enabling distributed energy models for electric mobility, and designing truly accessible and inclusive services. These are accompanied by adoption challenges: economic sustainability of business models, innovation-oriented public procurement, regulatory compliance and data protection, and the social acceptability of new solutions. Space TO Move was created precisely to accelerate the transition from idea to validation, facilitating market entry and scale-up.

Space TO Move is the place where ideas about mobility meet market reality”, said Alessandro Annovi, CEO of Space for Imagination. “We want to help teams quickly validate not only their technology, but above all their business model, so that they are ready to enter the market and attract investment.

Turin experiments with innovation

For the City of Turin, European Capital of Innovation 2025, the initiative consolidates a clear trajectory: “Turin has chosen to experiment responsibly, putting people and data at the center,” said Chiara Foglietta, Councilor for Innovation and Ecological Transition. “With Space TO Move, we are combining entrepreneurial creativity and the public infrastructure of the Living Lab ToMove to bring connected, sustainable, and inclusive solutions to the area, capable of truly improving daily travel and quality of life.

Space TO Move is promoted by Space for Imagination in collaboration with the City of Turin, GTT, 5T, LINKS Foundation, Fondazione Piemonte Innova, Politecnico di Torino and the University of Turin, as part of the Living Lab ToMove, with the support of the Department for Digital Transformation and the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

Applications are open until Wednesday, December 10, 2025, on the initiative's official website. It's time to turn imagination into impact: Turin is ready to test the best solutions and accompany them on the road to adoption.
