For the sixth consecutive year, the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italien) is organising the new edition of Business Meets Innovation, an open innovation contest aimed at fostering collaboration between small Italian innovative companies (start-ups, innovative SMEs, research groups and university spin-offs) and large Italian-German companies.
There are three Top Players in this latest edition of the contest: Automobili Lamborghini, Bosch Group and E.ON & UNICO la farmacia dei farmacisti, who have launched as many technology challenges, to which young entrepreneurs can submit a targeted solution to try to meet the need for innovation.
- Challenge #1 - Automobili Lamborghini, "Journey in Lamborghini world": ideas for making the human-machine interface (HMI) more ergonomic;
- Challenge #2 - Bosch
Group, "Understand data in the E/E network of different vehicles": artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to interpret inputs from different systems implemented in vehicles;
- Challenge #3 - E.ON Energia & UNICO, "Energy, movement and
health. Improving
people’s lives": community engagement platform to promote soft mobility.
In late July and mid-September, in-depth webinars will be held on each challenge, with the participation of contact persons from the relevant companies to explain in more detail what they are looking for and what the evaluation criteria will be.
Start-ups interested in this opportunity to meet the Top Players can register for one or more of the open technology challenges and have until October 13th, 2023 to submit their innovative proposal. The application period will be followed by the selections, two workshops in collaboration with EY on business modelling and pitching and, finally, the pitches of the candidate proposals, at which each Top Player will select the winner of its challenge. Finally, the initiative foresees the election of an overall contest winner, who will be named during the Overall Winner Night in early December.
