The Living Lab ToMove is an open laboratory dedicated to the urban mobility of the future, promoted by the City of Turin as part of the MaaS4Italy call for proposals, funded under the PNRR and PNC, and managed by the Department for Digital Transformation. The initiative got underway in the fall of 2025 with real-world testing of an autonomous and connected shuttle bus service.
During last summer, technical tests were conducted on the vehicle, without passengers on board, to assess its safety and functionality in real conditions. Then, in October, the first tests were launched with users on board the autonomous shuttle.
Open experimentation
The AuToMove shuttle, supplied by Ohmio and operated by GTT, is an autonomous, connected electric vehicle integrated into the local public transport system. The vehicle communicates with other vehicles and, thanks to specific technologies and devices designed and implemented by the in-house company 5T, with the road infrastructure.
The autonomous shuttle tests will take place around the Luigi Einaudi Campus in Turin, covering a route between Corso Tortona, Corso Regina Margherita, and Lungo Dora Siena. The service is open to the public upon reservation, free of charge, and active from October 14, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To test the service, users must access the Wetaxi app and select “AuToMove”. In order to view and book the service on the app, it is required to be located in Turin.
