Comehome closes €800K investment round

Startup

Thanks to a capital increase, subscribed by IAG shareholders, and crowdfunding, via BacktoWork24, the start-up aims to expand its market in Italy and Europe.

Comehome, a start-up that brings the meeting from digital to real life and in the most informal place of all, your home, has closed a new €800,000 investment round led by the partners of Italian Angels for Growth (IAG) and crowdfunding, through BacktoWork24.

Comehome, a start-up founded in 2017 by Michele Cesario, Daniele Chierchia, Federico Santaroni and Andrea Vitale, has developed a platform for socialising according to the airbnb model: hosts create events organised in public or private locations and the Comehome community (around 80k registered users) participates in these events by paying a fee. To date, more than 2500 events have been organised and there are more than 20k active users. Comehome is also validating the B2B market to which it offers an innovative marketing channel to reach its target audience from online to offline and advertise its products during the events organised by the community hosts.

Michele Cesario: "We are very pleased with the closing of this Seed Round and the entry of IAG members into our shareholding structure. An important capital increase that will give our start-up the opportunity to face the challenge of internationalisation supported by the experience and skills of one of the main players in the Italian investment ecosystem. We are aware that this investment round does not represent a goal for us, but only a starting point in our path towards conquering a global market. The best is yet to come!

"We have experienced the Comehome effect first-hand. Instead of a bar or a square, the events are at home, in an intimate and familiar environment. There is a host who welcomes you. You feel at home with friends, even if you don't know anyone. It is really difficult to create this kind of experience, but Comehome pulls it off. Like magic. Comehome responds to a desire for sociability that is present in today's cities and proves it with double-digit monthly growth rates and a close-knit team of friends," stated Roberto Montandon and Federico Pistono, IAG members and Champions of the investment in Comehome.

"Our members appreciated the excellent quality of the team and the ability to execute, which is absolutely relevant when compared to the current resources," says Giacomo Valentini, Managing Director of Italian Angels for Growth. "The investment by IAG members aims to consolidate Comehome's presence in the Italian cities where it is already active and to start a path of internationalisation of the start-up starting from Spain."

The operation saw Francesco Torelli of the law firm Bird & Bird act as legal advisor to Italian Angels for Growth.
