Turning household energy consumption data into useful information to better understand where and how we use energy at home, and to use it consciously. This is the goal of the collaboration between Midori Connect and Enercom, which has led to the development of Enercoach, a new digital service dedicated to intelligent energy-consumption monitoring.

Enercoach is designed to help users better understand how they use energy, going beyond simply displaying consumption figures. By analysing the data collected, the service identifies anomalies, highlights potential inefficiencies and offers personalised suggestions to optimise energy performance, delivering both economic and environmental benefits.

The start-up's technology

At the heart of the solution, Midori’s NILM technology makes it possible to estimate the contribution of individual electrical appliances - from the refrigerator to the washing machine and hair dryer - based on the overall consumption profile recorded by the meter. Thanks to advanced analytical algorithms, each user can reconstruct how consumption is distributed among the appliances in their home, without having to install dedicated sensors.

This capability makes energy data significantly more informative and helps users understand which habits or devices have the greatest impact on consumption, thereby identifying practical steps to improve efficiency. The service is particularly useful during these challenging months for energy costs, amid geopolitical crises and climate change.

For the development of Enercoach, the Enercom Group chose Midori Connect as its technology partner, drawing on its experience in designing digital solutions based on data analysis and artificial intelligence. Midori Connect, an Italian company alumni of I3P and today based at the Energy Center in Turin, was responsible for designing and developing the service, integrating advanced analytical technologies into an intuitive user experience, with the aim of turning energy data into information that is easy to interpret and immediately useful in making more informed choices.

The future of the project

“This new service reflects the approach to energy that we, as a Group, are building: a journey that starts with understanding energy needs, helping people become more aware and translate that awareness into more responsible everyday choices,” said Angelo Asciano, Marketing Manager at Enercom. “Understanding your consumption better means being able to manage it: identifying inefficiencies, changing less sustainable habits and making better-informed choices in the day-to-day management of the home.”

“Enercoach perfectly represents the kind of innovation we work on every day: transforming large volumes of data into digital services that create tangible value for people and organisations", commented Christian Camarda, CEO of Midori Connect. "Advanced analytics technologies and artificial intelligence are truly effective when they can simplify complexity and support better decisions.”

Enercoach can be activated directly through the Enercom app, where each customer can also access other detailed information on hourly consumption and energy prices, enabling them to monitor their consumption more precisely.
