The intiative titled GenTI – A Generation of Talent offers young recent graduates living in the Italian region of Piedmont the opportunity to undertake a four-month paid internship at new businesses, start-ups and innovative SMEs within the regional ecosystem.
GenTI is an experimental project promoted by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and carried out by Réseau Entreprendre Piemonte in collaboration with its technical partners EnAIP Piemonte, LINKS Foundation and the University of Turin.
An opportunity for growth
The course is aimed at:
- recent graduates from universities in Piedmont who wish to gain practical experience in dynamic and innovative business environments, whilst developing transferable skills, leadership abilities, strategic vision and an aptitude for innovation;
- start-ups and innovative SMEs within the Piedmont ecosystem that wish to connect with motivated and highly qualified talent, capable of actively contributing to the development of projects, tackling technological challenges and driving business growth.
GenTI offers the following to young talents and selected businesses:
- full financial support for four months’ paid extracurricular work placements for recent graduates, with a total of 40 placements available;
- training, support and mentoring for the young talents, totalling 25 hours with Réseau Entreprendre Piemonte (with a UniTo Micro-credential) to develop professional, soft and entrepreneurial skills;
- for businesses, Booster by Réseau Entreprendre: a personalised support programme with a team of experts put together specifically to support the innovation, consolidation and growth processes of every company hosting an internship;
- support throughout the entire process: from facilitating the matching of talent with businesses to assistance with administrative procedures, as well as support for setting up and managing the work placements;
- certificates and recognition of skills for the talents, including a certificate of attendance for the compulsory health and safety course;
- the GenTI Pass, a package of services for businesses developed by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo to harness the expertise of the local ecosystem in support of the businesses taking part in the project.
Extracurricular work placement activities will take place in person at the host company’s premises, in accordance with the arrangements set out in the individual training plan agreed between the parties and in compliance with the applicable regional legislation. Mentoring, networking and support activities aimed at businesses will be delivered in a hybrid format, at venues identified by Réseau Entreprendre Piemonte.
How to apply
The call for applications for this initiative is open on a rolling basis until 31 January 2027. The work placements will commence in two phases: the first is tentatively scheduled for October-November 2026, whilst the second is scheduled for January-February 2027.
Whilst the call is open, interested young people and businesses can register on the GenTI platform, either to apply for the available internship opportunities or to create their own company profile and make themselves available to host a work placement.
Recent graduates and interested companies are invited to take part in the introductory webinar on GenTI, which will take place on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 4.00 pm, in Italian language, subject to registration via the dedicated form.
