The Human+AI acceleration program is looking for start-ups and innovative solutions for smart cities

Human+AI is a vertical acceleration program designed for start-ups, entrepreneurial teams and talents focused on digital, sustainable, and scalable urban solutions. The initiative is promoted by SmartCityLab Milan, an innovative physical hub dedicated to ideating, experimenting, and promoting smarter, more livable, and more sustainable cities

The program, entirely free of charge and equity-free, provides selected participants with a structured support framework, including:

  • specialized training covering urban tech, sustainability, digital transition, and public-private partnerships;
  • mentorship from industry experts, urban innovators, and corporate advisors;
  • access to a qualified network of stakeholders, including investors, corporations, and public administrations;
  • tailored support to develop and validate their business model.

The main objectives of Human+AI are to:

  • support the Smart City ecosystem in Italy and Europe by nurturing innovative entrepreneurial ideas;
  • promote sustainable urban solutions in sectors such as energy, mobility, housing, data, and public services;
  • foster synergies among startups, companies, and institutions to enable shared projects and strategic connections.

Human+AI is aimed at start-ups that are established, in early-stage or in validation phase, operating in Smart City verticals like mobility, energy, housing, data, public services, and circular economy.

The program’s timeline is:

  • closing of the call for applications: Thursday, 18 September 2025
  • Selection Day (“Smart Days”): Monday & Tuesday, 13-14 October 2025
  • the program starts on: Monday, 20 October 2025
  • Celebration Day / Final Demo Day: Thursday, 29 January 2026

The activities will take place in a hybrid format (online and in-person) at SmartCityLab Milan, located at Via Ripamonti 88 in Milan, Italy
