On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of GiovedìScienza, the review of meetings on major research issues, the Association CentroScienza Onlus presented the 10th edition of the National Award GiovedìScienza, which aims to encourage commitment and attention to the communication of science.

Focusing on the ability to disseminate, the Award intends to give visibility to the work of young talents that with their production contribute to the development and innovation in our country. For this reason, the initiative is aimed at researchers under 35 who have obtained significant results from the scientific and technological point of view working in an Italian research organization and who have demonstrated their competence in the diffusion of this knowledge to the general public.

The Award offers candidates a path that is divided into three phases: the application (open to all), the selection (carried out by the Scientific Committee of evaluation to identify the shortlist of 10 finalists) and the competition (reserved for finalists). It will be possible to submit the application within 13:00 of Monday, March 8, 2021; projects that have already been submitted in other ideas and business plan competitions (e.g. regional Start Cups), or in previous editions of the GiovedìScienza Prize, are not admitted. More information about requirements and how to participate are available in the announcement and the rules of the Prize, published online on the website of GiovedìScienza.

For participants, this is a valuable opportunity to disseminate the results of their research: the scientific merit will be the basis for selecting the 10 finalists. The winners will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to tell the results of their research to the audience of GiovedìScienza with a dedicated conference.

The initiative also includes three special awards:

  • GiovedìScienza Futuro Prize will be awarded to the best feasibility study, with the aim of stimulating dialogue and interaction between the scientific world, the economic fabric and the innovation ecosystem;
  • GiovedìScienza Industria 4.0 Award is addressed to candidates who will develop their proposal starting from the concept of Industry 4.0 and presenting a study of the project;
  • Elena Benaduce Special Prize is dedicated to research works that stand out for their direct, or important, impact on people's well-being and quality of life.

For 10 years, in fact, the National Award GiovedìScienza "looks to the future", a future that has as its compass the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: an action program for people, planet and prosperity. Because scientific research is the engine of cultural, human, technological and economic development essential for the well-being of society.
